PEZA-accredited companies must locate 90% of their workers on-site by April 1 to keep Tax perks
On February 21st, the Fiscal Incentives Review Board (FIRB) rejected PEZA’s proposal to extend WFH arrangements for registered IT-BPOs. The Industry must locate 90% of their 1.4 Million workers on site to maintain PEZA status. PEZA incentives that sparked the industry cut operating costs by a minimum estimated 25%.
But employers are now faced with a new challenge. What benefits will enable their employees to arrive at work on time and ready to be productive amid dramatically rising oil prices, legendary traffic, and the long tail of covid variants?
The urgency of this need puts Compensation and Benefit teams in the spotlight. “Over the next month, HR professionals must find a solution to transport their teams while keeping them protected and in the mindset to be productive.” Says Liam Grealish, CEO and founder of SAVii Asia, a salary linked benefit provider. “Our platform makes purchase of individual transport such as motorcycles a low impact investment for employees, and can be rolled out in a week after signing up for partnership.”
SAVii’s salary linked financing comes with FREE personal accident insurance as well as a covid-specific cash benefit and financial education. “There is no cost or liability to employers, giving HR executives fewer hurdles to overcome when pitching SAVii as a new benefit.” Grealish adds. “We aim to support HR teams by enhancing workplace wellbeing and reducing financial stress for better employee engagement.”
PEZA Director-General Charito B. Plaza told the press that “PEZA and IBPAP are doing their best effort to have the FIRB consider immediately the hybrid work scheme”
Meanwhile, Grealish says that SAVii can provide a solution for rapid implementation.
